I have suffered from low back pain for over 20 years and I have tried quite a few remedies. My doctor prescribed pain medication and muscle relaxers so I could sleep a few hours at night. I need Ibuprofen™ and Tylenol ™ to control pain during the day.
One remedy that was only a short-term fix was my TENS Unit. TENS stands for transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation. You put sticky electrodes on painful areas in your lower back. The machine delivers a small current through the electrodes to your skin and tissues. It worked for a few hours but was not a good long-term solution.
Physical therapy helped but once my in-person treatment was over, I was not motivated enough to continue with the exercises, and found myself gradually phasing them out completely.
Now, I have found a new program through the Spine Zone™. I got a referral through my doctor and the whole online program is free. You start with a 30-minute assessment which can run over and take up to an hour. A physical therapy aide acts as your coach and you are sent a different set of exercises every day and some educational videos such as maintaining good posture.
You might be thinking if I didn’t do the exercises before, why will this time be any different? The big reason why this will be different is that I am in more pain now, and as I get older, I don’t want to be in so much pain that I can’t enjoy my life.
Part of the program is providing feedback if you’re experiencing pain performing the exercises. Your coach will replace the painful exercises with alternatives that still help low back pain. You’ll also rate your pain level on a scale of one to ten, and that tells your coach whether you are improving or need to make some changes.
The program lasts six weeks, but if you have mastered the exercises and are ready to be on your own, you may be finished with the program in four. Ask your doctor for a referral to the Spine Zone™. You can go in person if there is a program near you, or do as I am doing and take the online version.
These exercises are really helping my pain level and I have only been in the program a few days. It takes some motivation and determination to keep from slacking off. Get in touch with the ne SpineZone™ today and start putting pain out of your life.
